Victorinox Swiss Army I.N.O.X. Professional Dive Watch

Victorinox released I.N.O.X. Professional Dive watches in 2016. Professional I.N.O.X. models come with a rotating bezel and a larger case (45mm) compared to the regular I.N.O.X. models. You have the option of bracelet or silicone straps. Choose wisely because the straps are very expensive. The model I have is on bracelet. Lets start with the dial.

Dial has a very nice vibrant yellow color and a matte finish. It really gives the 3D feel as you can see with the applied indices and the deep date window. All printings are sharp and overall dial indicates high quality and attention to details. Color is pleasant not too blingy or dull. Only negative thing I experienced is that the hands have a lot of little dust specks on them. Of course you can not see them without a macro lens and proper lighting so no big issue for real world use. With the emphasis of “Professional” in the name of a dive watch, one would expect great lume. Sorry but the lume is only mediocre. Indices, second and hour hand have green glowing lume while the minute hand and bezel pip has blue glowing lume. Two tone lume is a nice touch but it does not glow well.

Case feels robust and it gives you the idea how though the watch is. I.N.O.X. watches are like less complicated G-Shocks. They are designed to endure some extreme conditions for a regular wrist watch. Professional models are also ISO certified dive watches. The crystal is sapphire and I believe it does not have any coating. You can wear it and jump from the 10th floor with knowing your watch will survive the fall, it is that tough.

Crown is signed, screw-down and deeply embedded in crown guards. The screw in-out action is smooth. Crown guards does not effect the crown operation even though they look like they do. Kudos to Victorinox for choosing an appropriate size crown for the watch. It complements the design. Unlike the regular I.N.O.X. watches, Professional models have a rotating bezel. I like bezel design and how numerals and markings placed. The surfaces where the numerals placed are polished while the rest of the bezel is brushed. Bezel action is nice and crisp. Everything lines up perfectly unlike Seikos. It looks like a hornet with yellow dial and black bezel markings.

Case-back is flat and comfortable no surprises here.

As you can see from the side profile it is a seriously thick watch. Bottom of the watch and lugs are pretty much flat. I can say it wears comfortably if you consider you are carrying a big chunk of steel on your wrist. You can defend yourself with it, it is shock proof.

Bracelet has flat end links so they some degree of freedom. It is comfortable and does not pull hairs. It comes with half links which helps to perfectly adjust the size for yourself. Clasp is pretty much standard with 3 micro adjustments. Clasp has a nice folding divers extension which is hidden in clasp unlike the unconformable Seiko implementation which you can see on Sumo or many other models.

When it comes to size, it is simply gigantic. It does not wear small either. See how it dwarfs the SKX009. I do not suggest buying without trying on first.

Skx looks like a baby from the face or the side. Watch comes with a clear silicone bumper. I think it is utterly useless unless you feel like watch is not large enough for you.

If you have a large wrist, Victorinox I.N.O.X. Professional Dive Watch definitely deserves its price tag. It has the character, presence, robustness and brand name. It is a little bit expensive for a quartz but it is worth it.
